FATIMA’S PORTFOLIO

LUBA LUKOVA AT THE BORDERLAND

Personal Project

Timeline: May 2023

Software: Adobe Illustrator

The final poster will interpret the subjects in the form of posters to promote hypothetical ("make-believe") retrospective exhibitions from designers and topics exhibited in the Rubin Center. It must incorporate a concept that puts the work in the context of El Paso, UTEP, or the El Paso Southwest. The poster reflects local culture, history, traditions, environment, or both. The design is to repurpose a famous design visual artist and designer related to El Paso Borderland. I chose an artist, Luba Lukova, in "I Have a Dream," on the borderland struggle of immigration of seeking shelter in the U.S. with border dogs to intimidate the immigrant girl holding the hand using the Spanish translation "Yo Tengo un Sueño."
